2/22/12I have a few scratches…can they be “buffed” or repainted?

General rule of thumb is… if you run your fingernail over the scratch and it doesn’t get caught, it can most likely be buffed.
If your fingernail gets caught in the scratch, chances are that buffing will not do much since the scratch has gotten past the layer of clear coat. This will require minor repair and for the area to be refinished(repainted).
If you are still unsure, come on by for one of our Estimators to take a peek!
2/15/12Who May Authorize Repairs To My Vehicle?

The only person who can authorize repairs to a vehicle is the owner.
If you are leasing or have a loan on the vehicle, the owner is finance company. In those instances, the person who is leasing or financing the vehicle would be considered the “owner”.
2/8/12Is The Estimate Going To Be The Final Cost?

That really depends on the type of damage sustained to your vehicle.
There is always the chance of hidden damage behind a panel or bumper that is not visible until they are removed from the vehicle. At the time of the estimate, the Estimator should be able to inform you if there is a chance of hidden damage.
Here at Collex, we always try to capture as much of the damage up front as possible. This might require the estimator to look under the vehicle, snap some photos or even put your car on a lift to see if there is anything additional behind/under panels.
Once your vehicle is brought into the shop for repairs, we do a strategic disassembly to capture anything that might have been missed on the original estimate. If there is anything that is found, we will photo document and contact the insurance company and the customer immediately.
